I was honored to have Flatiron in the Snow featured by the online magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur, in their most recent April issue. Flatiron in the Snow was awarded the "Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine Award of Excellence" in the oil painting category at The American Artists Professional League's 90th Anniversary Grand National Exhibition.

11 Day Art and Culture Trip to Paris
The Hudson Valley Art Association is excited to announce the first in what will be an ongoing, annual series of workshops and tours. We’ve partnered with the Study Abroad Association, and in 2018 we will be offering two unique and exciting experiences for artists and art appreciators, alike. In May we have organized an 11-day art and culture trip to Paris.

Paris Art and Culture Retreat May 29 - June 8, 2018
Travelers will stay in the vibrant Montmartre neighborhood of Paris, a district famous as the home for such artists as Picasso, Renoir, and Degas. Each day travelers will be led on tours of various Parisian landmarks such as: the Louvre, Musee d’Orsay, Notre Dame, Ste. Chapelle, Eiffel Tower, and Art Historical walking tours. The travelers will also enjoy excursions to Versailles, and Giverny to visit Monet’s gardens, home, and studio. As well, travelers will have ample free time to explore Paris, or, take inspiration from the city and create work, either during optional workshop sessions, or on their own.
The program price includes: Nine nights of lodging in Paris, all ground transportation, entrance into all advertised sites, full-time guides, daily continental breakfast, two traditional group dinners, and round-trip airfare from Newark, NJ (if the travelers selects that option.)
Instructor: William A. Dodge- Is an HVAA board member and has been a faculty member of the Visual Communications Dept. at SUNY Farmingdale for nearly twenty years and has just been awarded the New York State Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He is an award-winning artist, concentrating on local landscapes and city scenes, dedicated to sharing his experience and the time-honored traditions of drawing and painting.
Single gender quad room: $1,690 -or- $2,390 with round-trip airfare from Newark to Paris
Twin or Double private room: $1,875 -or- $2,575 with round-trip airfare from Newark to Paris

I am happy to announce that my painting, An Unkindness, has been accepted into the Hudson Valley Art Association's 84th Annual Juried Exhibition. The exhibition runs from April 30th through May 5th at the Salmagundi Club in NYC (47 Fifth Avenue between 11th and 12th streets). The Awards Reception, open and free to the public, is Friday, May 5th, 2017, from 5-8 PM. Hope to see you there.
